I’m Still Afraid of Life in the US and UK

I look at well-dressed people in public spaces and, somewhere in the back of my mind, a disturbing question sometimes appears: "What if one of them suddenly pulls out a gun?" In the UK, the fear takes a slightly different form: "What if someone pulls out a knife?"
